AYBT Tournament June 8, 2008

The Predator Red Sixth-Grade Girls Team was as hot as the Central Illinois weather, riding torrid offense and stifling defensive preassure to go undefeated (5-0) at Decatur's AYBT Classic June 7th and 8th, 2008.

The Predators sparked a successful weekend with a 23-2 bruising of Bloomington Bluestream Panthers at Millikin University's riswold Center Saturday morning. The Predators balanced scoring attack was led by Jennifer Hart who led all scorers wit 8 points. Isabella Paoli and Emily Robinson added 6 each. Audrey Lanzotti and Emma Schaddel cotributed 5 and 4 points respectively. Allison Long tallied 3 and Andrea Jachino and Allison Ayers each contributed 2 for the Predators.

In the weekend the second game, the Predators jumped out to a quick lead they never relinquished in rolling to a 35-3 victory over the Decatur Holy Family Knights. Audrey Lanzotti paced the Predators with 8 Points, while Jennifer Hart added 7 and Adrea Jachino chipped in 5. Allison Long, Allison Ayuers and Emily Robinson added 4 points a piece and Emma Schaddel knocked down a three pointer to round out the Predator offensive attack.

In Saturday's finale the Predators were firing on all cylinders as they rolled to a 50-5 victory over the Eagles at Decatur Eisenhower High School. Andrea Jachino and Allison Long pace the Predators with 12 points each, while Isabella Paoli added 8 from the low post and Emma Schaddel and Audrey Lansotti each scored 6 in the runaway victory. Jennifer Hart with 4 points and Allison Ayers with 2 rounded out the Predators' scoring.

On Sunday, The Predators continued their run at Decatur Eisenhower with a 35-6 win over another Eagles team. Tenacious defense and domination on the boards led the Predators to a fast start and they never looked back. Allison Long was dominant inside leading all scorers with 12. Audrey Lanzotti and Emma Schaddel each added 6. Isabella Paoli, Jennifer Hart, Emily Robinson and Andrea Janchino each added 2 and Allison Ayers added a free throw to complete the scoring.

In the tournament finale, the Predators' defense took the wind out of the Heyworth Storm. Andrea Jachino's three steals in the first minute of the game set the tone as the Predators stormed the court with tenacious defense. Led by Isabella Paoli's 11 points and 4 rebounds, the Predators cruised to a 39-7 victory. Jennifer Hart and Allison Long each scored 8, while Audrey Lanzotti and Andrea Jachino added 6 and 4 points respectively. Emily Robinson added 2 for the Predators.

The Predators 6th Grade Red Team finishes with a record of 5-0 and moves to the AYBT Tournament in Springfield June 14-15.
